An earth tremor which jolted sections of Hanover on August 30 has prompted the Middlesex Corner Primary School, located three miles south of Lucea, to improve earthquake awareness among its staff and students.
Parish Disaster Coordinator Desmond Dorman aroused the awareness of the teaching and ancillary staff through a workshop recently.
Using presentations and demonstration, Mr. Dorman took the audience through its paces, culminating a plan to schedule an earthquake drill before then of the school term. It was noted that it was necessary for the school to write a comprehensive disaster plan.
