The principal task opf the Planning Department is to keep the parish’s built environment in conformity with local, national and international standards.
Civil works and structures are expected to obtain approval from the Parish Council. The approval process is set by the Council and a Standing Committee reviews all applications on a periodical basis.
In recent time, the Parish Council has adopted the AMANDA system of management whereby it is a requirement that the approval process for building application is complete within the specified period. This is a consumer driven system, arising from the complaints of project developers for whom delays in receiving approvals came at a considerable cost.
